This is a fairly old watercolour picture that I have done on my next door neighbours cat. The background was again an ultramarine. I have used masking fluid to create the whiskers. Masking fluid is an agent which turns into a material similar silicone/rubber. This material can then be painted over which can then leave a pure white surface. This is good for things like rigging on boats or small amounts of snow.
