There are lots of shows that you can visit, ranging from a small watercolour painting exhibition to in a very large venue with a very large crowd!
Here are some highlights of the best:
If you are in the UK many towns have their own Art Society which holds exhibitions most often annually. Most towns have their own art societies which hold these exhibitions. These and their dates can be found most often by googling your town then art society in the search box. Most of these exhibitions are held in town halls, including many pieces, varying in medium.
Art Materials Live - This is held at the NEC in Birmingham. A great place to visit for Christmas presents. The crafts range from watercolour painting to even the likes of jewellery making. The show is annual in November.

Also if you live anywhere near Bluewater you can visit the "Castle Galleries" This has a range of Contemporary Art for all the family.
If you live anywhere near Essex the Essex Guild of Craftsmen hold regular exhibitions in venues across Essex, such as Hylands Park which you can see on a post on my blog. http://essexcraftguild.co.uk/ is the website for them.
Again if you live in essex then Audley End holds this christmas a show.. look at their website for more details.
The SAA are holding an art show in Bristol (Brunels Old Station, Clock Tower Yard, Temple Meads Bristol, BS1 6QH) where 11 of your favourite TV artists will be there where you can learn from and chat to them, some of which include Geoff Kersey and Jeremy Ford. Other activities include live demonstrations, interactive workshops (materials provided) and The SAA shop will be there. Tickets from £8! Friday 29th and 30th June 2012 9.15am - 5pm. Contact 0800 980 1123 or visit www.saa.co.uk - This date may have passed but this is an annual occasion!
